Obtain paid work for your barristers through the Bar Council’s Appointment Service
Did you know that your members can receive paid work through the Bar Council? Through the Bar Council’s Appointment Service, the Chair of the Bar is occasionally asked to appoint a barrister to act as an arbitrator, mediator, or expert determinator, making their selection from our Pro Bono and Paid Participant databases. Over the past few years, we have been able to offer over a dozen barristers the opportunity to act in return for their normal commercial rates. It’s free for our members to join the databases. They (or you, on their behalf) simply download and complete the Participant Form from the Bar Council website and return to appointmentservice@barcouncil.org.uk.
