Our client is a leading set of Barristers’ Chambers based in Leeds, specialising in Criminal, Civil, Family, Regulatory and Public Law. Chambers has 45 members, including 14 KC’s. Members are recognised by the leading legal directories for their skilled advocacy and the delivery of rigorous advice and representation.

Chambers is now seeking a hardworking and pro-active individual to manage its Civil and Family Clerking functions. The role works closely with the Senior Clerk and colleagues to ensure the smooth running of Chambers, appropriate support for members and their practices, as well as delivering a highly efficient service to Chambers’ clients, partner agencies and external stakeholders. The role is supported by a more junior colleague.  

Our client welcomes applications from those already working as clerks or practice managers in suitable Chambers who possess the appropriate levels of experience and requisite skills to manage and promote individual members’ practices, the civil and family teams, and Chambers and its interests.  Those working in similarly fast-paced environments with transferable skills and experiences seeking to change career or transfer in to a demanding and rewarding environment are also encouraged to apply.  

Flexible/hybrid working offered.

The Role will include:

  • Day-to-day practice and diary management
  • Business development, marketing, client care and liaison
  • Play an active role in the development of new and existing business
  • Negotiating and agree fees for appropriate cases
  • Management and development of more junior colleagues
