Old Square Chambers is a leading set of chambers, specialising in Employment and Discrimination, Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence and Professional Discipline and Regulation , comprising 84 members (22 King’s Counsel and 62 juniors).
An opportunity has arisen to join our administration team, in the capacity of a part time Administration Assistant to the Marketing Manager. This is an important role offering support to the Marketing Manager, the Senior Clerk and our members.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and organisation skills, excellent time management and be polite and friendly. Working in a small team, good communication is key, together with a ‘can do’ attitude and dynamic approach to what can be a fast paced environment.
As a minimum, the candidate must have GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, Grade 9-5/A-C. Experience in using social media for commercial purposes would be advantageous, as would a background in working in a chambers or within the legal sector.
Duties will include administration of our events programme, collating and processing directory submissions, supporting (and attending) marketing events in Chambers and at external venues, website administration and content updates, processing social media updates and press releases, and maintaining our marketing database. The role is diverse, and a flexible approach is essential. There will be a proportion of reception cover required for planned/unplanned absences.
The preferred working days for Chambers for this role would be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and would require hours in the region of 24 hours work over that period. We can offer some degree of flexibility as to how the hours are proportioned during the working week. The majority of this role requires you to be physically in Chambers but there can be an element of flexible working.
Package
The salary for this role, based on 24 hours per week, is in the region of £22,000 per annum. We would be open to discussing more or less hours (and salary adjustments to suit, dependent upon experience), within reason, with the right candidate and depending on experience.
