About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Executive to join our talented and experienced team. This is a forward-thinking and creative department with a busy programme of events (in person and virtual) and a wide-ranging remit of responsibilities across marketing, advertising, PR and business development. The role presents an opportunity to work across a range of areas of marketing.

General duties include: (1) the organisation of our international and domestic marketing events; (2) management of our digital marketing (including website, social media and podcasts); (3) client relationship management and maintenance of our client database; (4) proof reading of written work such as directory /award submissions, articles, blogs and Keating Legal Update. We are currently developing a new website and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be heavily involved in that exciting project.

The Marketing Department is one of three staff departments at Keating, alongside the Operations Team and Clerking Team, and all three work closely together. What we are looking for

The candidate must:

  • Have at least 2 A Levels or equivalent qualifications, plus a minimum of five GSCEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above (to include Mathematics and English).
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build both strong internal and external relationships.
  • Have excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to work to a deadline.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accurate spelling and grammar.
  • Be a team player who is also able to work unsupervised and under pressure.
  • Be able to demonstrate a positive attitude in challenging circumstances.
  • Be creative and have a keen eye for detail.
  • Be able to discreetly handle confidential information.

Demonstrating some or all of the following would be desirable, but is not essential:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the legal sector or a similar environment.
  • Qualification(s) in law and/or marketing.
  • Experience of running events.
  • Experience of using social media channels such as Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Experience of operating virtual platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
  • Experience editing/producing podcasts using software such as Garage Band and Buzzsprout.
  • Working knowledge of client relationship management systems such as Lex or MLC.
  • Working knowledge of marketing design apps including Canva, Photoshop and/or InDesign.

Salary & Benefits

  • Start date – immediate
  • Salary – £35-40,000 p/a (depending on experience)
  • Holiday entitlement – 20 days plus bank holidays, 22 days after one year and 25 days after two years
  • Pension
  • Benefits on completion of probationary period include: Bonus Scheme (up to 15% of salary based on targets set), Season Ticket Loan, Permanent Health Insurance, Life Insurance and Private Medical Insurance and bonus half-day ‘birthday’ holiday.
