Maitland Chambers is one of the UK’s leading sets of barristers’ chambers, renowned for excellence in commercial litigation and Arbitration, Civil Fraud, Company & Partnership, insolvency & Asset Recovery and Offshore & Trusts. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Clerk to join our busy and professional clerking team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term career in chambers administration and barristers’ clerking. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Working alongside experienced clerks and administrative staff, you will assist with the smooth running of chambers and support the delivery of an outstanding service to clients and barristers.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries professionally.
• Photocopying, printing and preparing bundles.
• Court runs, ensuring Barrister papers are delivered & collected from Court.
• Assisting with diary management and court listings.
• Processing incoming instructions and correspondence.
• Liaising with the Courts (High Court & County Court) and solicitor clients.
• Monitoring emails and distributing information to barristers.
• Supporting the clerks with basic administrative tasks.
• Assisting with chambers events.
• General office administration.
