9 KBW is an extremely busy and highly regarded London based Common Law set of Chambers, with 24 members, a probationary tenant and 3 pupils , specialising in Criminal, Regulatory, Extradition, Animal Protection and Immigration Law. In October 2024, we will also be joined by 3 new pupils.
We are offering an exciting opportunity to a determined, ambitious and highly organised candidate, to join our very experienced clerking team as a Junior Clerk.
The role will entail providing daily telephone and diary management support to the clerks, liaising with professional clients, members, the clerking and administration teams and court staff. The successful applicant will also be trained on fee billing and collection, following which they will be responsible for billing the more straightforward fees in Magistrates Court cases. There will also be the responsibility for a variety of general clerking duties including, photocopying, collection and sending of post, dealing with regular GDPR destruction and dealing with any building maintenance issues that may arise.
The successful applicant will also assist with promoting Chambers seminars and marketing programme of events.
Full training will be provided, if required.
Minimum Requirements
• A minimum of 5 GCSE’s, Grades A to C and these must include Maths and English.
• Excellent IT skills; This is an essential requirement.
• The ability to work, once fully trained, without close supervision and to be able to work closely with Chambers’ members and staff;
• To have a likeable personality and a warm approach when dealing with members and clients alike.
• Meticulous oral and written presentation.
• Experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided by our clerking and management teams.
Salary is £23,000 to £25,000, dependent upon any relevant previous experience.
