Then we would love to hear from you…DWF Chambers is looking to recruit a Clerk to join the existing clerking team. Location to be agreed – preferably Manchester based but other DWF office locations considered for an exceptional candidate.
This is an in-house Clerking role within a top 20 national law firm. The successful candidate will assist the clerking team which is led by Senior Clerk, Josh Finn, with the smooth running of the Clerking services across the national practice.
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000, with the possibility of a higher salary depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

What we are looking for:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Barrister’s Clerk to join our team at DWF Chambers. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the daily operations of the chambers, providing administrative support to barristers, and maintaining relationships with clients and solicitors. This position requires excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a Clerking role but we will consider applicants with similar experience. Full training on the DWF systems will be given. In addition the successful candidate will possess:
- Basic to intermediate IT and keyboard skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and database programmes;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- A good team spirit with proven team working skills;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Familiarity with LEX is desirable.
What you will be doing:
The successful candidate will:
- Organising and maintain the barristers’ diary, scheduling court hearings and appointments, and dealing with court listings;
- Dealing with queries from Solicitors, Directors and Partners professionally and courteously who are instructing DWF Chambers on new and existing matters for and liaising with the instructed advocate;
- Agree fees with clients and solicitors and sending bills using our internal software;
- Build and maintain relationships with solicitors and other legal professionals and attending client events;
- Work effectively and efficiently, both independently and in collaboration, with the team on a daily basis.
