Registration for the Advanced Management Course (Senior clerks) is now open

Remote with one in person event.

About the course

This highly bespoke course has been commissioned by the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks and accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), specifically for barristers’ clerks to help in their career development. It addresses various aspects of the profession, and will widen individual knowledge, helping to gain more senior positions within the sector.

Flexibility

We know it can be hard to fit personal development into a busy work and home life, therefore accessibility is at the heart of what we do. Clerks can join this course from any location and work within their own timeframe. This is a blended learning course, which combines in-person training*, remote sessions, and eLearning.

*In-person training can be conducted remotely if required.

Time allowance

Due to the highly flexible nature of this course, the time taken to complete it depends on the amount of time the delegate can afford. We estimate that, working at a reasonable pace (3 to 4 hours per week) the course can be completed within 10-12 months. You can take longer if needed; it’s up to you.

Networking

We know how important it is for clerks to improve their network and have the chance to collaborate with other clerks. With this in mind we will set up virtual study groups, enabling learners to help each other and debate topics.

Suitability of the course

This course is highly valuable for all levels, especially those who are focused on progressing to a more senior role. We suggest that you look at the syllabus and decide for yourself if it’s relevant to your stage of personal development.

Location

There is a one-day training day, in London, during the course. For international clients this can also be delivered remotely. The in-person training day, held at a central London chambers, is 17th October 2024.
