The Bar Council's Equality and Diversity Committee has produced a diversity training toolkit. The training toolkit is particularly relevant to chambers' Equality and Diversity Officers and others responsible for implementing the BSB's Equality and Diversity Rules in chambers. Clerks are encouraged to take part in this training.

The model is designed to raise awareness of the equality issues that arise at the Bar through a series of worked exercises and is drawn from the practical experience of applying equality and diversity policies in chambers. The course is accompanied by written information on the equalities legislative framework and sessions are aimed at providing a brief introduction to the diversity compliance requirements that affect the Bar.

The training sessions last for one and a half hours and attract 1.5 CPD hours. They are run monthly at the Bar Council (289-293 High Holborn) and are free.

If you wish to attend this session, please email: trainingandevents@BarCouncil.org.uk to reserve your place.
