About Us
Liverpool Civil Law are a barristers’ chambers with a reputation for excellence in advocacy and client service. We are now seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fees Clerk to join our dynamic clerking team.
The Role
As Fees Clerk you will report to the Senior Clerk, your primary responsibility will be the efficient and persistent chasing of outstanding barristers’ fees, ensuring timely payment and maintaining strong relationships with solicitors and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively chase outstanding fees via phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Maintain accurate records of fee recovery activity and payment status.
- Liaise with solicitors’ firms and other clients to resolve billing queries.
- Monitor aged debt reports and escalate issues where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the clerking and accounts teams to ensure accurate billing and collections.
- Assist with fee note preparation and reconciliation as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a fees collection or credit control role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
- A confident, professional manner with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships.
- Familiarity with LEX or similar chambers management software is desirable but not essential.
